Administrative Assistance Internship / Apprenticeship

Job Description:

Zenith Music Group is an Entertainment company composed of multiple venues, record labels, promotion companies, music studios, etc. We are looking for a talented, recent-college grad who is interested in and passionate about the arts, music, and theater scene! We are excited to hire a qualified part-time or full time intern who is eager to learn and build a carrier in the entertainment industry, has a passion for music, is extremely organized and able to both meet deadlines but also be able to continually shift priorities on a dime as needed.

An Administrative Intern / Apprentice at Zenith Music Group performs administrative tasks to help the company and President focus on more big-picture items and initiatives. Duties include scheduling appointments and maintaining the President’s calendar, while managing office inventory and working with various vendors, relationship management and other diverse responsibilities. They will closely work with the Executive Assistant to the President, with the opportunity to directly with ZMG’s President and staff.

THIS IS A INTERNSHIP/APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM with LIMITED PAY with the opportunity of being offered a full-time or part-time position upon completion. Candidate will have opportunity to make money working at weekly ZMG events among other opportunities to earn commissions managing day to day business.

Please only apply if you are local to Chicago, as the intern is required to be and on-site at our offices located in Chicago a minimum of 2 days a week. Candidate is also required to have a minimum of 1 weekend night available (Friday or Saturday) AND weekday flexibility for Concerts, Events and Festivals, etc.

Intern MUST own a car and be able to get around to local events in between Company Venue’s located within the Greater Chicagoland Area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendar for President
  • Schedule and coordinate staff and other meetings for President
  • Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence for President
  • Collate and distribute company mail
  • Write and edit documents from letters to reports and instructional documents
  • Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical
  • Manage accounts and perform basic bookkeeping
  • Call customers and vendors to follow up on appointments and deliveries
  • Compile, maintain and update company records
  • Manage office inventory and work with vendors to ensure the regular supply of office materials as well as help ensure / manage / create a clean, happy and pleasant work environment for all ZMG staff at offices
  • Operate and keep inventory of all company equipment including printers, copiers, fax machines, venue sound, lights and all multimedia instruments

Additional Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in Academic Studies at a credible University or Recent College Grad with equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Social Media Marketing Internship / Apprenticeship

Job Description:

You are applying for a Social Media Intern position at one of the greatest independent music companies in the Chicagoland Area. The position is a non-paid internship with the opportunity to become full-time. Your role will be partially remote and on-site. When working on-site, you will be working out of one of our offices in Barrington, IL or Chicago, IL. NOTE: You MUST be local to Chicago to be qualified for the position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the team to create a plan for social media strategies monthly
  • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
  • Assist in the growth of the brand by raising awareness through various social media platforms
  • Monitor postings to ensure brand message is constant from the terminology used to images posted
  • Aid in the daily aspects of promoting the businesses campaigns
  • Interact with followers and potential customers by communicating and answering questions through the company’s social pages
  • Assist in implementing plans to increase followers on popular social media websites such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok
  • Oversee the creating and implementation of a monthly editorial which included monthly sales objectives and initiatives
  • Help create weekly and monthly content for editorial calendars that promote company brands on various social media websites

Additional Qualifications:

  • Currently, enrolled in college or a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in digital communications or related field such as advertising, journalism, marketing or graphic design
  • Experience with major social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok
  • Knowledge of social media analytics software, such as Facebook Insights to track audience engagement and campaign performance
  • Experience with content management systems, word processor applications and image/video editing software
  • Interested in social media trends
  • Copywriting and editing skills
  • Available to work at least 15-20 hours per week or more
  • Local to Chicago, and willing to commute to office, IL a minimum of 2 days a week

Shirley's Piano Bar - Barrington, IL


Job Description:

Shirley’s Piano Bar is currently looking for experienced bartenders that are interested in working in a fast-paced and fun musical environment. Candidates ideally have 3+ years of bar tending experience and a good understanding of the industry. Those with a passion for music, creating cocktails, and overall maintaining a good atmosphere for patrons will be a perfect fit for this position!

Job Expectations & Responsibilities:

  • Take drink orders and serve drinks for customers
  • Learn POS system
  • Enter drink orders, close out tabs, check reports, etc.
  • Keep the bar clean and presentable for customers
  • Provide a positive and friendly guest experience
  • Check ID’s as needed
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Be aware of not over-serving patrons
